Learning to read begins at birth.

The benefits of a home library go far beyond the books, and parents are a child's first and best teacher. By providing books at no cost to families, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library increases childhood literacy rates, fosters a love of books, and promotes a culture of reading in the home.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library puts books into the hands and hearts of children around the world. The Imagination Library's Blue Ribbon Book Selection Committee specially selects age-appropriate, high-quality titles each year, including several bilingual English/Spanish titles. These books are delivered to registered children each month from birth until their fifth birthday. Each one is personalized with the child’s name and mailed directly to the child’s home. This effort creates a gifting experience making books exciting and shows the child someone is thinking of them.
